TEHRAN -- Film critic Mohammad-Taqi Fahim is convinced that a lack of entertaining Iranian TV series leaves the door open to non-native productions like “Jumong”.

Referring to the visit paid last week to Tehran by South Korean actor Song Il-Guk of the TV series “Jumong”, Fahim said that this series and its success can be a good model for Iranian producers.
Invited by LG Electronics Group, actor Song Il-Guk was enthusiastically greeted by hundreds of reporters and fans and took part in a conference held at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) International Conference Hall.
“This series is very popular among people because it has been able to meet the needs of its viewers. The story is full of romance, struggle and suspense and proves the fact that South Korea is heading towards industrialism, making the best use of media,” he stated.
He added that the invitation of the series’ superstar proves the high level of intelligence of Korean producers, especially in the commercial section.
Fahim also said that he is unhappy that Iranian national history is being ignored and that Koreans enjoy better facilities for the promotion of their productions.
Jumong is currently being aired on Iran’s TV channel 3 and is a great hit with Iranian viewers.
